Benefits of Wilden Pumps
Wilden air-operated double-diaphragm pumps have proven their durability and reliability in countless applications. As the inventors of the AODD pump, Wilden has pioneered countless innovations. Their state-of-the-art products are the most energy-efficient in the industry, and each pump is engineered to deliver a wide range of flow rates and outlet pressure levels, for greater versatility.
Meticulously-designed pump configurations guarantee total pumped media containment, while optimized internal liquid paths reduce friction to maximize output and efficiency. Elastomer materials are carefully chosen to provide maximum resistance to and minimize wear caused by abrasion, extreme temperatures, and harsh chemicals.
Superior craftsmanship and top quality materials ensure that every Wilden pump will deliver years of worry-free operation, with minimal maintenance requirements.
A Brief History of Wilden Pumps
“Slim” Jim Wilden pioneered the air-operated double-diaphragm pump. In 1955, inspired by the need to clear out a flooded shop at the steel factory where he worked—inundated by a burst underground water main—he invented the first Wilden pump. Technically a reciprocating, positive-displacement pump, this prototype laid the foundation for what was to become the Wilden Pump & Engineering Company.
Building on the success of his first pump, Wilden went on to develop the AODD pumps that would make his company famous. After the experience at the flooded steel mill, a tough pumping challenge if ever there was one, Wilden set out to build pumps rugged enough to handle the job of pumping water, slurry, and other finely-divided substances (like cement).
Wilden pumps’ unique air pump and diaphragm designs, combined with low maintenance requirements and high reliability, has made them favorites for mining, heavy construction, and other, less-demanding industries for decades.
